Record workshop details, services, brands and photos while travelling and import them later as a suggestion.

Mobile checklists – how they work

The mobile checklists let you record accommodation, rest stops and workshops while travelling. Your details and photos are saved in a data package that can be imported into Bikers-Home later.

1. Save the location

When the checklist opens, you will be asked whether you want to save your current location. Confirm this while you are at the place you are recording. Your browser will ask for permission to determine your location.

After a successful reading, the date, time, coordinates and approximate GPS accuracy are displayed. You can update the position at any time using “Save location now”.

Important: The location is recorded while you fill in the checklist. Your location is not determined again when the file is imported later.

2. Enter the details

Enter the information you know and select the available facilities. You do not have to complete every field immediately. Missing details can be added after importing. Text entries are temporarily saved on the device you are using.

3. Add photos

You can select or take up to four photos with your smartphone. Add a short caption where possible, for example “motorcycle parking”, “outside view”, “terrace” or “workshop reception”. Large photos are reduced automatically.

Please note: The photos are only stored permanently after you save the data package. Do not close or reload the page before doing so.

4. Review and save

Select “View summary” to see an overview of your entries. You can print it or save it as a PDF. Then select “Save data package”.

The file is normally placed in your Downloads folder. Its filename ends in .json and it contains your details, the saved location and the photos. Please do not edit or rename this file. A warning is shown if no location has been saved.

5. Import the data later

Open the matching form: “Suggest accommodation”, “Suggest rest stop” or “Suggest workshop”. Under “Import mobile checklist”, select the saved data package.

The details and photos are transferred automatically. Check everything and add any missing required fields, your name, your email address and your consent to the privacy policy and terms of use. You can then submit the suggestion as usual.

After submission

  1. Confirm your email address
  2. Check for possible duplicate entries
  3. Review by the administration
  4. Publication in Bikers-Home

“Delete entries” removes the locally saved draft and recorded location from the device.

Select up to four photos or take them directly with your phone. Large images are reduced automatically for the data package.

You can repeat this until four photos have been selected.

Text entries are temporarily saved on this device. Photos remain selected only until the page is closed or reloaded and are stored permanently only in the exported data package.
